Welcome to the Lamar Fire and Ambulance Services.  Lamar is a city of approximately 9,000 residents located in the southeastern corner of Colorado at the crossroads of U.S. Highways 50 and 287.  Our department provides fire protection, emergency medical transport, rescue and hazardous materials response to the residents and visitors of Lamar, Colorado.  Our ambulances also serve the western two thirds of Prowers County which accounts for a response area of 1,240 square miles.  Our combination paid and volunteer staff respond to approximately 1,000 medical calls and 190 fire calls annually.  Our staff consists of both career and volunteer firefighters as well as full and part-time emergency medical providers who are committed to providing highly competent and professional service to our community.

We are constantly looking for those who may have the desire to give back to their community by participating as a part-time firefighter or emergency medical responder.  We can provide you with the training and equipment needed to participate in our program.  Please contact us with any questions you may have regarding volunteerism or our department in general.

Thank you for your interest.  We hope that you find our web site both informative and entertaining.
